Horrifying Images Of Starving Lions In Sudan Park Spark Campaign To Save The Animals – Video

Online awareness is rapidly growing to help save the lives of five malnourished and sick lions held in a park in Sudan’s capital. With the growing concern that creatures should be moved to a better habitat, the five lions are kept in cages in Khartoum’s Al-Qureshi Park, the upscale district of the capital.

It has been reported that the lions have been suffering from food and medicine shortages for weeks.

I was afraid when I saw the lions in the zoo. Their bones bulge out of their bodies. Osman Salih, who started an online campaign, posted the #Sudananimalrescue hashtag on Twitter.

Osman went on to say, I appeal with all concerned people and institutions to support them. Reacting, park officials also reported that the lion’s present condition has deteriorated over the past few weeks, noting that some have lost around two-thirds of their actual body weight. There is generally no food available. We mostly buy it from our own money to feed it. said Essamelddine Hajjar, manager at Al Qureshi Park.

Funded in part by private donors, the park is officially managed by the Municipality of Khartoum. On the other side, Sudan is currently in the midst of a worsening economic catastrophe due to rising food prices and foreign currency shortages. Journalists, visitors and residents ‘ audiences visited the park over the weekend to see the lions after a viral picture of them. One of the five lions was bound to a chain and was given water through a stream.

A large portion of rotten meat covered with flies was also spotted scattered around the cages.

No question, the state of the park itself had an impact on the health of the animals. The livestock are suffering from serious diseases. We are ill and undernourished. One of the caregivers known as Moataz Mahmoud said. However, it is not clear how many lions there are currently in Sudan, but several are located in the Dinder Park on the border with Ethiopia.
